You must respect a movie that managed to squeeze both its plot AND its title down to four words.

Samuel L. Jackson has said that he accepted the role without ever reading the script, he was just so amused by the title that he couldn't resist.
Note to self: Send Sammy my script titled Invasion of the Radioactive Astro-Hookers.

I like the title myself! It's sweet and to the point, as opposed to the "subtle" titles like Lake Placid, Deep Blue Sea, etc. I can definitely handle Snakes on a Plane!
I dunno, if people accuse the title of being so bad, maybe the producers were going for a cult B-movie to begin with! Hell, I was even more stunned to see that the budget was $100,000! Lower than even Plan 9 from Outer Space ($600,000)!

The goal of the movie is no doubt meant to get laughs out it's audience. Lol
