mostly, i just thought this was a good article to kind of sum EVERYTHING about this movie up in a nutshell...

one thing i picked out:

"...Pandora's supply of an energy-rich mineral called unobtainium. "

why not just called it "Difficulttofindium" or "Manshouldnotmesswithium"??

<sigh> i think i am going to see this opening weekend though...i've yet to see a new 3-D film

I actually have a question about that too...
I generally wear glasses (my contact supply need to be renewed and my last pair starts to bother my eyes after only a couple of hours since they are like 6 months old) - are regular glasses gonna be an issue with 3-D glasses?

Unobtanium is a term with a long history, both in and out of science fiction.

Honestly, I'm surprised by the hate towards both this film and Cameron in general. I guess its a backlash reaction towards the secrecy associated with Avatar during production, inevitable fan-generated overhype, and Titanic still sitting at Number One.

Guess I'm just sheep, but I'm genuinely looking forward to it. I think it looks beautiful and unlike anything we've seen on the screen before. There are certainly other films this year more worthy of the loathing, but to each their own.
