They really just need to do whatever the story calls for. The reason I personally was so furious about what happened in JP3 was that the most common defense of the movie is that it's just a big stupid dumb action flick with movie monsters.
That's fine. But then I want my big dumb stupid action flick with monsters to have the monsters actually FIGHT when they meet and not just insta-kill.

It's like having a fan-favorite wrestler get SQUASHED by some new guy just because you're trying to sell how much stronger he is.

I think it's just people getting frustrated with how child characters are often written, which is understandable. Not every child in a story needs to be loud and bratty and get in the way.

Yeah, no one got inspired by JP to get into paleontology only to quit when they found out the dinos were probably feathered instead of just scaly.

And as much as I like seeing scientific accuracy in sci-fi movies, there's a point where reality takes a back seat to artistic vision, fun, excitement, or whatever. People were put off by the quills on the Raptors in 3, to suddenly have feathered dinos would confuse the general populace, as scientifically accurate as it is. So better to keep instep and emulate the biggest success in the franchise than to rock the boat too much.

If some one want to make a feathered dino Dino-Riders, please do. I'll buy out a theater for that awesomeness.

I kind of hope they're saving the Rex footage for the movie and she's not just a cameo, but the lack of T-Rex is starting to unnerve me a bit.

But other than that I CAN'T WAIT!

Even though it's very short at 35 seconds, there's a surprising amount of new footage in the TV spot. Some interesting new stuff regarding the I. rex, like the fact that she had a "sibling", and apparently she's a rampage killer. That field of dead Apatosaurs makes me feel a little sad.

I have to say, the I. rex has grown on me. Originally I wasn't sure what to think, but now I think she has potential to be a cool movie monster. I also hope there is a hint of tragedy to her and she isn't just portrayed as an evil beast.

Yeah that killing its sibling thing reminded of Muldoon from the first movie talking about the Raptors.

"We bred eight originally, but when she came in she took over the pride and killed all but two of the others. That one... when she looks at you, you can see she's working things out."

Really pumped for this movie. I'd say more so than Antman or the Avengers. Haven't seen a big dino movie for a long while so this looks like will make up for it.

Reading between the lines of that trailer, looks less like we're in for any kind of epic reboot of the series and more like a REALLY dumb action flick. Sex jokes, cheesy clunky dialogue (the tracking implant exchange is BAD stuff), nerd guy wearing Jurassic Park T-Shirt at his computer terminal, poor child acting, raptors in a motorcycle gang, machines guns and bazookas, Indominus giving orders to pteranodons...

...and let me say, having that expectation, and my personal expectations firmly in check, I am ONE HUNDRED PERCENT ON-BOARD, as long as it stays dumb fun in the right ways, we could be on our way to ultra-intelligent mobster dinos with guns before too long.
