So its been confirmed that all the non-new Trilogy films will be "Origins" prequels about various characters.

Blerp. I'd kind of grown to like the concept of an Obi Wan movie set during his exile on Tatooine.

Although I really don't want a teenage Yoda learning about the force.
Dear god. Nope.

Tokyo, a smoldering memorial to the unknown, an unknown which at this very moment still prevails and could at any time lash out with its terrible destruction anywhere else in the world.

When I hear all this stuff about new Star Wars I can't help but think how much I'm looking forward... to... Godzilla

... and the next Doctor Who, and seeing Miyazaki's last film, and Crimson Peak...

I still think one a year is a bit much. A year break between flims would be better.

I can't believe anyone at Disney thinks the world wants more Star Wars prequels.

None of the characters in the first 3 films had origins and we loved them all.

I dread thw forthcoming Luke origin film and its 35 minute long wamprat hunting scene.

All I can say is that any upcoming news about these movies better amaze the sh*t out of me, because my initial excitement when I first heard this has dropped off to nothing. At all. All I'm hearing is statements saying they're going to make more Star Wars movies and a release date. The speculation (which I never really have a problem with for any movie) has now become redundant. As in, we've heard it all by now. Origin stories, borrowing from the extended universe, original actors returning, yadda-yadda. Maybe it's just the fact that I'm not that interested, but it's starting to sound like a broken record.

Besides, I've already got a space movie I'm hyped for. I'll take tree monsters and talking raccoons with rocket-launchers over wookies and droids any day.

Not completely sure who's directing this anymore, but the video petition at this link is right on target. It also unintentionally makes a simultaneous argument about why Firefly is great too. :)

I finally watched that video and...hrmm.
The reason the OT doesn't take place in major cities isn't because that's what Star Wars has to be, it's because they were a bunch of rebels fighting an Empire which was based throughout those cities.

Blerp. I don't think I have many requirements for the new film.
Lightsabers, The Force, Bounty Hunter at some point, Droids, Creatures, Space Battles (wow, this list is longer), Opening Crawls
and I'd like the "I've got a bad feeling about this" line to appear.
But other than that, go wild. None of the things I mentioned need to even be super crucial to the story either, I'd just like to see them.

If they were gonna do a Luke Skywalker movie, I'd like it to be based after Episode 6 and how he created the New Jedi Order etc.... because I think it's pretty safe to assume that Episodes 7-9 will be when Luke is the old grand master jedi. How they would get Hamill to look that young again... IDK, but they did it with Jeff Bridges a few years ago and that looked good.

Also, anyone expecting MORE out of the new trilogy are just crazy... I'm not too sure what else you could do with Star Wars.... the force, jedi vs sith = Star Wars basically. I KNOW there's more than just that, but that's what it is to the general public pretty much.

shuffling screenwriters (not that big a deal this early, honestly). Seems like this could be akin to Prometheus or something. Someone else lays the groundwork, then the guys more involved with the film itself re-write it from there.
