The movie premiered at South By Southwest this weekend and so far, its been getting pretty stellar reviews across the board.

Sounds like they really did push that R rating. Sounds hardcore just like Evil Dead should be.

From what I can tell it's a pretty mixed bag-- Regarding reviews. The gore and scares are there, but the script includes lackluster cannon fodder and no one to appropriately fill Bruce's shows. I just feel like we have Saw for this sort of thing. Still not amped. At all.

^I'm still really hoping for a charismatic lead.

I too don't care a ton about tight plotting in an Evil Dead film, but a likable lead is something I really want. If the rest of the characters are cannon-fodder, that's just par for the course (seriously, can anybody even NAME a single character other than Ash in Evil Dead 1 and 2? I can't)
