Anyone else sick of this Inception/Dub Step hybrid that's in every sci fi movie trailer now.

You can't sit through a trailer without hearing "BRAHM BRAHM BRAHM WUB WUB WUB"

EH, I don't really care.

Trailers have ALWAYS overplayed tropes and copied and mimicked each other. Welcome to any era in history.

This trailer looks pretty awesome, though. Blomkamp seems like a guy I'm going to really like.

Remember when trailers were loaded with James Horners Aliens score?

"Punch it Bishop"

Then White Zombies More Human the Human. Yuk. It's just a phase right now.

I was too fixed on the visuals to think about the music.

According to wiki, the budget for this movie is $120 million. I could have sworn I read something about Blompkamp saying he likes to keep them in the $30-50 million range so less input from the studio goes into the movie. Maybe I'm crazy.

Don't forget when everyone was using the Requiem For A Dream music.

Or remember when everything was using the music from the spike-pit scene in Mortal Kombat?

EDIT: Hell, Godzilla used it...(after 1:00 mark)

and then there's this:

You can see this thing in the trailer too, and it's honestly one of the things that makes me excited about this....it's got that Total Recall Johnny Cab vibe to it...I totally dig it.

I really liked this movie. I don't think I like it as much as District 9, but it was a lot of fun, and set up a very cool and unique world. It'll be a shame if this movie underperdorms. At least ONE original sci-fi film this year has to be a hit! Come on!

Anyway, its another good one from Blomkamp. I really like this guy. His stories and his visuals are really unique and different. And I like that he seems more interested in doing original stories instead of taking on a franchise (which is good- not every good director needs to take over a franchise.)

Damon was really good and Sharlto Copely was a hoot as the scenery chewing villain.
