I still think its kinda weird to have the rest of the Avengers continue their adventures in sequels while the Hulk gets relegated to television. I still don't even get if this is supposed to be part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe or if Ruffalo is coming back or what... you think they'd be a bit more upfront about this? (Unless of course they simply don't know yet, which would be weird).

Still, the combination of Whedon + GDT + Hulk = nerdgasm

I was never convinced that the Hulk show was ever going to happen. It seemed to go against what Marvel is trying to do with the strong continuity between the films and the SHIELD show.

As for MOUNTAINS, I like that GDT wants to try again. I feel like LP might let him do it if Pacific Rim does well enough. LP has a history of giving directors chances to make their pet films as long as they prove themselves with something else first (ie Inception, Watchmen, Sucker Punch, etc)

I think GDT will probably get to do Mountains after Pac Rim. Just a feeling I have. He might make a smaller, more intimate film first while in pre-production on Mountains (then again, he's already been in pre-production on Mountains so maybe he could pretty much shoot it) but I think Pac Rim will at least be a modest hit, and I think that GDT is a little more willing to compromise now after having the project yanked from underneath him originally.

Ideally...I see the next few years of GDT looking like this

The Haunted Mansion
Mountains of Madness
From Heaven Sent
Saturn and the End of Days
The Count of Monte Cristo
Frankenstein
FTW

Well Crimson Peak is the one he said he was doing for LP after Pacific Rim. Then he's suppose to direct the stop motion Pinnocio after that. None of the projects you mention seem to be moving forward at all.

And I think he's still only producing Mansion (whih very well might be dead in the water). Pretty sure Saturn and Cristo are done, and it doesn't look too good for Frankenstein either right now.

While I would love to see GDT take on the Hulk, I don't think it'll ever happen without a long pause and yet another reboot. The MCU has foolishly turned Banner into a mumbling moron and poor ol' Greenskin into a super-powered clown who shows up just to get an easy laugh. It's disgusting to me.

However, something in that quote really caught my eye...

A Guillermo Del Toro SWAMP THING movie??????? GDT orchestrating a battle that featured at its nexus Swampy vs. Arcane's army of misshapen Unmen??? Holy F! The mind boggles at the potential level of warped awesomeness.
