I think they're more surprised that it didn't. I finally got around to watching it and thoroughly enjoyed it! It was just enough of a great b-monster rumble fix. The fight scenes were better than would have been expected and the monster footage although rather limited was wisely scattered out throughout the film. It definitely had it's fair share of flaws, shortcomings, and at least a couple of missed opportunities[mostly due to it's very tight budget and shooting schedule] but it's easily the best of Asylum's films and anyone can see by watching it that they were definitely trying much harder with this entry to give us what we want. I found t to be a fun time. Here's Robert Hood's review which perfectly dissects the film's pros and cons better than I could ever describe:
