The Turtles (and Splinter, and Leatherhead) are created from mutagen that was the by-product of an alien race called the Utroms who were secretly living on Earth.

...Maybe that's what he was trying to say.

Still, doesn't really matter. The best TMNT movie that could just about possibly be made has already been made. There's nothin' at stake.

Hmmm... okay. Splinter is a rat alien who is hundreds of years old and lived in Japan where he became a ninja master but he now lives in the sewers of New York because... um, he's old?

One day a... tiny spaceship crashes in NY with four baby turtle aliens inside. Splinter rescues them, origin story proceeds as normal.

Let me think for a minute, pretty sure I can work in some other characters from the comic/cartoons in here...

The turtles are really princes of the turtle planet, sent to another world to escape an invasion of the Triceratons. The movie starts when a spaceship crewed by the Fugitoid and several Utroms reach Earth and tell the Turtles that the Triceratons have discovered their location.

Triceratons show up, there's a fight, and our heroes are captured and taken to the turtle planet where they're put into a kind of gladiatorial combat situation with warriors from other planets and alternate dimensions (consisting mostly of characters from various permutations of the TMNT franchise, as well as Miyamoto Usagi, who befriends the turtles).

...and then, uh, um, there's a lot of fighting and something happens and the Triceratons are defeated, the turtle planet is saved, and all the warriors are returned home. The turtles and Splinter return to New York and in the last scene of the movie we see Baxter Stockman, The Shredder, and the whole damn Foot Clan spying on the turtles via a mouser. Shredder makes some comment about Splinter being his old enemy and revenge and something, blah, blah, to be continued.

April and Casey are in the next one.

Michael Bay, I await your call.
