^It's something I've kinda wondered about...even if they don't go with makeup, if at some point they'll make the apes much more human in appearance if they fling us far enough into the future.

My wife has actually never seen any of the original films, but she really liked Rise and was overall pretty impressed by the CGI.

One approach they could take if the series lasted long enough and they decided to go far enough into the future could be to make the apes' civilisation more like the original novel, where they're at least as intelligent and technologically advanced as modern-day man. The original film made their society more primitive due to budget concerns and had them baffled by the notion of flight for example, but the Tim Burton film went the same route too, so having a film in which the apes are as advanced, or perhaps even more advanced than we are today could be another way of giving us something we've never seen before.

Well.....IN MY IDEAL WORLD OF APES
Rise, Dawn, Whatever the next one is = Early Years
2 or 3 movies made some time after this first trilogy = Planet of the Apes/Beneath- era civilization
Then move on to the world of the novel.

I want the progression I (when I was a kid anyhow) felt we needed between Conquest and Battle and Planet.

Caesar holding a shotgun = winning.

Also, the apes already are looking slightly more anthropomorphized here. I like that. I like that a lot.

Really cool interview.
Apparently the original concept for Dawn was to move much further towards an Ape society than what we're getting.
I'm glad they slowed it down, because they got that wrong in the original franchise.

I can't be the only person who finds this "here's the trailer for the upcoming trailer" stuff ridiculous...can I?

Legendary's going about teasing for their trailers in a much cooler way, imho.

Malcolm's head stands out more than Caesar's does.

Now that's an awesome poster! Harkens back to the great posters of decades past - before Photoshop ruined everything.

And the trailer is great. I only just recently saw Rise of the POTA and it was pretty good. I didn't love it as much as some other board members here, but it was definately a solid, well written film that entertained me throughout. Looking forward to this one for sure. And the apes riding horses into battle = pure awesome!
