There's nothing about that image that seems attractive to me, let alone MJ-esque. Why would Peter be tempted away from Gwen by this version of MJ?

Edit* I really hate myself for thinking this. I'll be happy if she's just a well-written character this time out. She's not super model attractive (to me at least) but I also almost want to congratulate the director for not picking a sex-pot for a love interest for a change. Thing is, MJ is supposed to be insanely sexy, I mean that's part of her relationship with Peter. MJ is waaaay out of his league. In this film, I'd say that's not true.

Lets all judge this poor girl on paparazzi photos where she is CLEARLY not wearing any makeup. Woodley is a GORGEOUS girl and a brilliant actress and just like every other girl in real life, she appears a little more homely than usual when she isn't wearing makeup. WEIRD, I KNOW, RIGHT?!

It's something even "sexiest woman in the world" Mila Kunis can't avoid.

Having seen a fair amount of Secret Life of the American Teenager (while drinking heavily with a former roommate), I can vouch that the above picture of Shailene Woodley does her no justice compared to how she looks properly lit and made up.

Instead of doing a simple Google image search, we can all just talk about how manly she is in this one photo. Why look anywhere else?



So the above girl playing Mary Jane even though she "isn't as attractive as she is in the comics" is an issue that needed to be raised, but it wasn't an issue when Electro was black or Rhino was a middle aged fat guy. That's exactly what I'm saying. Why is THIS girl "not being attractive enough" (if you say so) a point needed to be raised when everyone just sat there and didn't care at all about changing Electro's race (maybe they're afraid of being labeled racist?) or Rhino's entire shape/age (oh, its ok because Paul Giamatti is such a revered actor?). Its a double standard that really is only happening because she's a female character who is sold as being "hot," so when the actress isn't hot enough, THAT'S when people suddenly have something to say.
