TMNT III was a pretty damn good movie minus the ugly costumes. It'll easily be better than this new one.

Didn't care for this one. I enjoyed watching Splinter fight, and Raphael was fine. Actually, he has a nice character moment near the end - which really doesn't belong in this move, but eh. That's about it, though. It's all pretty dumb and by the numbers. Shallow pandering to the fan base, minimal characterization, dialogue and a plot you could write in your sleep, and - sing this over the classic theme, why don't you - Douchey Potential Rapist Turtles. Those aren't all the problems, but those are the ones that stand out most in my mind.

I'm giving it a shot still tonight... Though, I'm tempted to watch Guardians instead.

The most positive comments I've heard about this movie are variations on 'it's not as bad as it could have been.'

To me at least... The movie is nowhere near as bad as people have made it out to be. The group I was with all enjoyed it.

This movie has made me so angry, like, actually upset, and I've got to let it go. I don't like being negative, and it don't do me no good.

What does being an adult have to do with anything?

A movie that is well written can be made for kids and adults can enjoy them. However, a "OH GODZILLA! WHAT TERRIBLE LANGUAGE!" movie is a "OH GODZILLA! WHAT TERRIBLE LANGUAGE!" movie no matter who it is aimed for. So don't tell me I would not like this movie because I am an adult. The movie stars a piece of living plastic that whores herself out to anyone that is willing to put her into a movie. She just needs to know how to suck in more ways than one. I've heard the turtles themselves were pretty good, but everything else, especially Shredder and April, were utter crap. Not just that, but the movie's plot is pretty much just TASM. Why would I want to watch this when I can just watch TASM? At least that movie tried to be good.

BTW, any parent that truly loved their child would have taken them to see Guardians of the Galaxy a second time over this.

I don't get how you can mess something like this up, Transformers too. There's already so much material available, you just have to dig and find the good stuff. I mean, just look at the title -

Teenage - Make sure the Turtles feel like believable teens despite being the ultimate outcasts.
Mutant - Explore the mutagen, its purpose and how the Turtles and others came in contact with it.
Ninja - Explore Hamato Yoshi and Oroku Saki's rivalry and why Splinter raised the Turtles the way he did.
Turtles - Bring the Turtles to life in an aesthetically pleasing way.

Apparently Yoshi and Saki aren't featured at all in this new origin story and I can't even imagine doing that... their roles are so vital to the mythos.

Makes you wonder if the rumored alien origin would have made a better film for being even further from the source material.

Then again when I watch movies I like to watch it from the point of view of the intended audience. When I watched this I pretended I was a kid age 10-13 . Looking at it from a normal 16 year old point of view(my age) it was a generic childish overdone plot with ugly turtles and an overdone shredder. Also horrible acting from some human characters(Megan O Neil).

Yes, the elevator scene is one of the few really great scenes in the movie. It's full of personality and has a great comic timing to it.

Jelly, I got agree with you there. I'm no prude but I could see GotG's language ruffling the feathers of a family thinking they're walking into another Avenger's or some other Marvel branded superhero movie.

I have yet to see Turtles but I've been wanting to, even more so with the "It's so horrid" reviews.
