I don't normally waste my time with clickbait sites like that Ben, but I've heard from other places too that if Sony sells they loose the license. I want to say I've read it on IGN but for some reason I can't find a reliable source. So I guess without seeing the original contract from the late 90s we don't know 100% for sure.
