Me and the fam just finished watching this, and it was very well worth the wait. Look forward to the sequel.

In my opinion, one thing that really killed this movie was the marketing. Here's an example.

Earlier today at work I was chatting with a coworker who is a movie buff. We were talking about our favorite movies this summer and I said that one of my favorites was Pacific Rim, and she hadn't even heard of it... Wow!

I think Legendary definitely failed on marketing this movie. They not only should have shown more trailers and commercials, they should've done a lot more tie-ins for toys, books, comics, games, apparels, etc. In my opinion it would've done a lot better if they had done all this.

Hopefully they won't make the same mistake with Godzilla.

I would pump the brakes a little bit on the "Godzilla's a name" thing.

Just because something is a name people RECOGNIZE, doesn't mean it's a name they care about or want to see.

Everybody shut up!

Have any of you listened to the commentary for PR yet? Its SO GOOD. GDT knows his kaiju and spouts facts and history that even I didn't know (like Honda gathering everyone on the G'54 crew and telling them if they didn't believe in the film they were making to leave).

LISTEN TO IT NOOOOOW.
