I know it's becoming cliche for the counter-argument, but let's not forget how much we all complained about Heath Ledger. Jesse is a fantastic actor and I'm not willing to write him off without seeing some of the end result first.

Sorry, not seeing it. Jesse IS a good actor, but I just can't see this one. I don't find it very comparable to Ledger at all. Sorry, maybe I'm old school, but I prefer Lex to be much older.

I'm sure his performance could be just fine, but yeah, he feels way too young for the part to me as well. :?

*sigh* guys, I'm beginning to think that Plastic Man won't even be in this movie.

I actually laughed out loud when I heard they'd cast Jesse Eisenberg as Luthor.

This project has become a complete joke, IMO. What happened to it simply being a Superman/Batman movie? When the hell did this turn into the Justice League movie? It's becoming obvious more and more with each new announcement, and the new release date just reinforces that impression. It is going to take INCREDIBLE skill to pull off the story they're attempting and do justice to all the characters they're including. If they succeed, it will be brilliant. If they fail, it threatens to KILL superhero movies thanks to how big a bomb it could be if they screw it up.

Jesse Eisenberg is too young for this part, plain and simple. I mean, look at the clues we got in Man of Steel. The LexCorp tanker trucks. Eisenberg is 30 and looks 25. We're supposed to believe that someone that young is the president, owner, and CEO of a multinational company that has at LEAST a portion of his business in OIL? No. No. Nononononononono.

He's a genius. Why not? Plenty of young smart people have raised powerful companies these days. Lex should be able to surpass even that.

So, I just realized that Henry Cavil and Jesse Eisenberg are the same age.

Is THAT why they're going with Eisenberg? Because they want Lex and Clark to look about the same age? That's...that just DUMB. I NEVER thought Lex and Clark were supposed to be the same age, I always thought Lex was supposed to be older than Clark (if Clark is supposed to be about 30, then Lex should be about 40). MAYBE Eisenberg can pull it off, but I have a HARD time seeing it.

I know it's a reboot and all, but they should just get Kevin Spacey to be Lex.

Didn't expect this kind of choice, but we'll see what happens.

I notice we haven't heard anything about Frank Miller in awhile. He's certainly nowhere on that executive producer list either. I figured all that stuff about having him on board or speaking with was going to faze out. Seemed more like a publicity stunt than anything at the time.

I don't know if Affleck and Terrio are enough to save the growing list of problems I already see with this production, but someone thinks it's a good idea. Can't say I feel as negative over it as I am confused by it all. Which could be worse.
