Dude...who cares if it's too soon to announce it? Apocalypse! This is something X-Men fans have been dreaming about since the first film was announced.

Singer has to prove himself with DoFP before I will even care about Apocalypse.

I want Mathew Vaughn back and do a REAL sequel to First Class. Not some bullshit time paradox retcon thing just to make it so Brett Rattner can stop whining like a little b!tch because his movie was wiped out of continuity.

From what I understand, Singer is pretty much responsible for the casting, story (including some script duties), production, and hiring the crew (including hiring Vaughn for his replacement) for First Class. Keep in mind guys, that Vaughn was literally a LAST MINUTE replacement for Singer because of prior obligations on Singer's part.

He was actually MUCH more active with XFC than Nolan was with Man of Steel.

Not only that, but Singer proved he could handle an X-film with X-Men and ESPECIALLY X-Men 2.

^Hm. Very unsure what to think here.

On the one hand, I saw some stuff that looks borderline infuriating: Storm looks to maybe get dispatched with ease, seems like a heavily Wolverine-focused story, potential for mutants to just appear in woefully under-characterized cameos, and I cannot state how much I can't stand the Sentinel design.

On the other hand, I'm excited to see a lot of the First Class characters and actors returning, I'm really digging the Magneto/Xavier relationship they're working, and I saw more than a couple flashes in the action-cuts of legitimate teamwork (things like Kitty Pride grabbing somebody so they can both run through some debris together, Iceman and Colossus working side-by-side...some other stuff), and that's probably the reason First Class is my favorite of these films to date: they capture the spirit of teamwork.

Oh, I'm also not a huge fan of Dinklage as Trask. Isn't it going to be a bit...odd to see someone who's so different in appearance himself being the one leading the charge against mutants? Is there an element of irony there? I almost feel like this needs to be addressed at some point like, "Dude, why do you hate mutants so much? You're not exactly 'normal' yourself." I'm sorry if that's crass and insensitive, I don't mean it that way, I just kinda have a hard time believing somebody who would experience the wrong-end of prejudice themselves would be the one championing it against others. Especially for a little person in the 60s? 70s? whenever this is set.

Supposedly they will be touching on the irony aspect of Trask at least to some degree. I read an interview with Peter Dinklage where he mentioned one of his lines is "I was underestimated, so do not underestimate these creatures", and that he sort of played Trask with the mindset that he had a certain degree of self-loathing and that that probably contributes to his anti-mutant stance to a certain degree. Who knows how much that will actually be directly addressed in the movie and how much will just be left as something for the audience to think about though.

And yeah, I've got no doubt that all of these new future characters will only be there for cameos and dialogue-light action scenes rather than getting any sort of development. And while I'm a bit surprised they showed something as potentially spoilery as...

I really liked the look of all the period stuff, as well as the future action scenes, and having the old and new Magneto/Xavier actors in the same film should be good stuff. It looks like the whole thing is going to be on a much bigger scale than I was expecting too. Hopefully we get some decent old school Sentinel action in there too, because yeah, I'm also not entirely feeling those future designs either. But yeah overall I liked it, so fingers crossed it'll be of a degree that one could potentially describe as "the good".

That Trask complaint is pretty dumb (no offense), IMO. Its like saying there can't be racist gay people or something... or better yet, that there can't be a racist midget or something. One type of minority can still hate another. So a midget hating mutants isn't all that far out there.

Xavier/Magneto continues to be the best bromance in superhero history (comic or film)

No complaints from me as far as the trailer goes. I think it all looks great. Although, it's some details I've been hearing prior to the trailer that gives me pause. It seems like more and more of the future stuff is being cut down-- which, at this point, is hard to tell whether or not that will benefit the story. I was looking forward to spending some decent screentime with the original cast though.
