What a riot! I was reading over on Outpost Gallifrey about sects of fans of the original BSG series that hate the new series SOOOOOOOOO much, that they have not only renounced watching it, there are forums where it simply cannot be discussed, period. They're REALLY whacko about it.

Best example is , who went so far as to send Ronald Moore a letter stating that the new series was causing families "post traumatic stress". Anyway, guess what they refer to "the news series" as....?

GINO.

I used to think that hardcore Firefly/Serenity fans (Brownshirts) were the nuttiest. But this may just take the cake.

I don't know how long it will be up there (most likely taken off before this Friday) but somehow, the first few minutes of the first episode of Season 3 is on the net.

Here is the link

So what do you think. :D

PS: I've already taken the peek.

Just watched the first two episodes of Season 3 and damm it is a mix of frakking hilarity and frakking horror.

Each of the characters here tonight is a coward in his or her definition (this is not meant as deamining against them) and the only difference is that it comes in different shapes and sizes.

Also may I say that both sides are turning into demons of the worst order but that what usually happens in wartime, especially in cases such as this.

And as for the parallels to the real world of today, well it is way too close for my blood (it had suicide bombings, detention centers, Cylon gunships murdering the insurgents, executions, etc).

For anyone who still cares.

Tonight was mostly a buildup episode although its a very good buildup episode now that I think about it.

Can't wait for next week since all hell breaks loose.

My guess is that the colonials will lose the Pegasus in order to get everyone out. Of course I could be wrong.

Any thoughts.

Although tonight's episode was perhaps too fast paced for its own good, it is perhaps one of the best that I've seen. This is the Home Part II episode of Season 3.

-Really sad to see the way that Ellen Tigh die like that and to see Saul actually break down. The events on New Caprica may perhaps have redeemed her for all her past sins perhaps. Also perhaps its better that she died right now if you consider what is about to happen in the next episode.

-The action on the ground was litterally a full hour of the Omaha beach scene in Saving Private Ryan. Also there was a shocking scene (and perhaps in a way a hilarious scene as well as a very good special effects scene) in which Galactica litterally dove right down into the atmosphere before launching her Vipers and then jumping out again.

-A superb battle scene and the image of the Galactica being pounded by four basestars sent chills down my spine. Then it brightened with the arrival of the Pegasus blazing away with all of her weapons.

-Perhaps a big problem with me here as well as perhaps with some other viewers is the destruction of the Pegasus for with her gone, the Colonial fleet has lost a very good ship (and I wouldn't be surprised if any more battles will have to resort to "miracle moves" instead). :( Fortunately, she did not go down without a fight and the damage that she caused was spetacular and superb. :D :)

PS: If done right, I wouldn't mind if there were other human fleets (especially one with warships) out there that managed to escape from the destroyed colonies and somehow they meet up with Galactica.

-The reunion scene at the end of the episode was exceptionally touching, especially when William Adama and Tigh meet up. I could just imagine Adama cursing himself after seeing Tigh's condition that he did not get back to New Caprica sooner.

-The music for this episode was really and truly at the top of its game here.

So what do you think.

The last episode was great and easily one of the best of the series.
