There are no more good TV Shows, only ones that haven't disappointed me yet.

Well yeah, but if you just say or type "Angel" to any X-Men or Marvel comic fan, whats the first thing they think of? Certainly not that chick that was in the First Class movie.

We have so darned many X-Men threads floating around here...I just spent a solid minute wondering why the trailer itself and all replies got deleted before realizing that all took place in the other X-Men thread...

Does anybody else find the "Magneto killed President Kennedy" viral thing to be in poor taste? I'm fine with things that occur within the historical context (like Magneto in the concentration camp in the first X-Men film)... but to attribute a real murder and a national tragedy to a fictional character seems a bit crass, which is not what i think X-Men is going for... maybe this is what happens when Mark Millar gets in the mix....

...meh. It's timely, and with all the really strange stuff surrounding the "magic bullet" it's kind of apropos.

maybe I'm just not old enough to care about JFK...

I was thinking about this, but how often has Kennedy's death been used for fictional tales?

Watchmen
The Rock
Shooter
X-Files
Doctor Who
Dark Skies (TV show)
Spoofed in Seinfeld

If it's in bad taste now then what of these others? We fictionalize awful events in history all the time. Not to be an asshat about it, but I'm not sure why this should be any different.

i guess President Kennedy's assassination has become a part of pop culture... maybe its just because its coming out on the 50th anniversary of his death that i found myself questioning the choice of using an actual murder as promotional material for a super hero movie...

I don't see it being used as a problem of any sort.

It sounds like it might be part of the plot, which would make this alt-history as opposed to just cashing in on the era... So I'm fine with it as long as it just isn't a viral marketing...

So what if it is just viral marketing?

Then imho its in poor taste...but I guess its established that the Kennedy assassination has been reduced to a pop culture event
