I am officially excited about this movie. So happy to see a lighthearted tone for the trailer. This is going to be like a breath of fresh air compared to how seriously the other films Marval has been putting out seem to take themselves.

I think it looks great! I do think it has potential to be Marvel's first flop, especially if they continue to downplay its place in the Avengers universe... I realize this was just a teaser, but some kind of hint that its part of the big picture would definitely help the movie.

This film would normally be nothing I would have an interest in, but because of its involvement with Marvel, I will be sure to see it. As stated in earlier posts I’ve known of the Guardians for a while, but only through their two appearances in marvel animated series (Avengers: EMH & USM respectively). I just hope fans can keep a level head when they see this trailer in the theater and 99.999% of the audience is like wtf?? Did I just see, and probably laughing hysterically and discounting the film automatically. These are quite literally some of the most obscure characters in Marvel. This film is truly made for the hardcore fans. Will it work? Only time will tell. But fans shouldn’t be hurt or bent out of shape if it does flop. Just be happy the film got made. There are still plenty of other characters to explore in the Marvel Universe.

So... you're saying I shouldn't be buying tons of copies of Speed Racer on Blu-Ray and giving them away to random strangers?

I wonder how much of their origins are in tact, like...is Star-Lord the half human/Spartax, was Drax's family killed by Thanos?
I really liked Drax and Star-Lord's stuff, Gamora's is kind of convoluted and not really necessary (except her associations with Thanos).

I also really like the look of the spaceships here. I also love that this thing is very Space Opera-ish (like Star-Lord's initial appearances), but with this sort of post-modern humor and reflection upon everything. I love it...or I potentially love it.

I've been very skeptical of this movie from the moment I first heard about it. After the trailer, though? I'm now interested. It looks funny!

I think that sums up my response as well. Although curiousity began to set in when they hired James Gunn to direct

For someone who isn't too familiar with Guardians of the Galaxy, the trailer for it looks pretty cool. I have a feeling it will wind up being one of Marvel's lesser box office movies, but still cool nonetheless.

I heard a funny theory about this movie... Since Joss is overseeing the Marvel Movie Universe at the moment, and often these movies just exist for the sake of moving things towards the next Avengers, wouldn't it be funny if the entire cast is killed off at the end just to stress the danger of Thanos in Avengers 3? Basically a lovable group of redshirts to emphasize the severity of the situation for the "Senior crew"

I'd adore it if they had the balls to do something like that.
