Yep... which is unfortunate because there is a lot of wasted good source material out there... in fact i was about to post that most of the others probably fall within the worse 10 superhero movies.. but some quick googling reminded me that there have been a lot of really bad superhero movies... Catwoman and Steel are probably still within the top 5 worse superhero movies list though...

^ V for Vendetta was from an imprint owned by DC, which i hadn't included. but if we include those I would have to say Neil Gaiman's 'Stardust' directed by Matthew Vaughn and 'History of Violence' directed by Cronenberg are easily two of my favorites, both of which surpassed their source material in the adaptation to film.

Oh, wow, forgot about A History of Violence. You know what the one real flaw with that movie was? It was too short. I wanted more.

maybe you need to revisit the movie Jelly... its probably the only comic movie to receive an Oscar nod for best screenplay (Road to Perdition picked up an Oscar for cinematography).. it also picked up a Best Picture from the Golden Globes

Hmm. I'm okay with some of this as long as it's in some sort of cameo capacity, but I really don't want to see Diana and Barry do something overtly crucial to the story. Easter eggs and future set-ups are fun but, otherwise, it feels like Warner Brothers is trying to play catch-up with Marvel.

I know most superhero comics can be considered male adolescent power fantasies, but they are a lot of fun and that escapism is easy to latch onto. I want my daughter to have a Wonder Woman movie that can excite her the way Spider-man comics used to excite me. She needs to be able to look at a female character that has her own adventures instead of simply playing a supporting role or love interest to the male protagonist, and there are very few of those types of characters in the scifi/fantasy genres. So i am annoyed that one of the few (and possibly most iconic) female characters is being introduced in this manner and i have a much bigger issue with Zack Snyder being the one to introduce the character. He has a terrible track record with presenting what he considers "empowered women" but are in fact objectified or fetishized.

Apparently Jason Mamoa is going to play Doomsday. WTF is WB doing?

I loved Man of Steel but the more I hear about this movie the more bloated and horrible it sounds. I'm done with it until a trailer comes out.

Really, I want DC to have a smashing success matching or even improving on Marvel's level. I want a Justice League movie. I want to see the adventures and escipades of various DC heroes, not just Sups and the Bat (I would've included WW but DC/WB seems too scared to try a solo female flick).

Joy, Phoenix as Luthor. Just what I want, a Luthor that looks stoned.

Next thing you know, they will be casting Jason Mamoa as Nightwing.

Is it confirmed he's Lex? Is it confirmed he's in it at all? I've just read a few ifs, ands or buts about that. Even if he is I'm fine with it. Phoenix is a terrific talent. I'd love to see him in a mainstream blockbuster again.

No, not a damn thing has been confirmed (neither Luthor or Phoenix)

Not only is Phoenix awesome, but he's nowhere near being Luthor yet. We know he was sought for a role, probably a villain and that's IT, he hasn't even agreed to anything.

Anyway, here's some GOOD news, finally. The writer of Argo has been brought in by Affleck to rework the script.
