I understand where those people are coming from. For better or for worse, the original Jurassic Park has permanently impacted our collective cultural imagery of dinosaurs. It's the reason why everybody today knows what a "raptor" is. When people imagine what a living dinosaur looked like, they think of the dinosaurs from Jurassic Park, and it's going to be a long time before average folks are able to disassociate dinosaurs from the concept of scaly, featherless skin. That's got to be frustrating for the scientific community and I totally get why they would be upset that the latest JP film isn't going to be imprinting scientifically accurate images of dinosaurs into people's minds for decades to come.
Personally, I'd rather the dinosaurs in Jurassic Park IV look consistent with the dinosaurs of the prior entries. For all the accuracy the creators of the first film sought to imbue in their dinosaurs, they also took plenty of liberties such as making the velociraptors larger and giving dilophosaurus venomous spit and a frill. The JP dinosaurs are unique movie monsters unto themselves and I think they should stay that way.
Now, if this new dinosaur movie was an original property, unrelated to Jurassic Park, I'd be all for giving the dinos feathers.
