The problem with the latest 3-D movies (particularly after Avatar's big bucks) is that some [maybe most] of them are merely 3-D conversions while others, like Avatar, are filmed with a true stereoscopic camera set-up (actually using two cameras simultaneously when filming).
Alice in Wonderland and Clash of the Titans are both 3-D conversions. The upcoming Tron Legacy is filmed with a true stereoscopic set-up.
From what I've read while the conversion does work, it's not as effective as when a movie is truly filmed in 3-D with a stereoscopic set-up.

I saw this tonight and was entertained for most of it (while keeping my mind off of the little plotholes and contrivances). There were numerous face-palm moments and the cameo from the original movie is funny, but way out of place (as is a lot of the odd comedy thrown into this movie). If anything this movie DEFINITELY cemented my personal dislike for Worthington. His acting is atrocious here. I've seen more believable emotions from a corpse.
Even with all of that holding back the movie, the thing that hurt it the most was the poorly thrown together plot which definitely IS NOT like the original other than some of the events happening in both films.
For once I might be siding with those of you who think remaking movies to be "dark and serious" isn't always the best of ideas. I would have loved to have had a fun Clash of the Titans to watch, like the original. This just took itself way too seriously at times. :/
The Kraken was extremely impressive and totally had me feeling a Cthulhu vibe, what with its incredibly foreboding size/presence and all the creepy religious nuts trying to sacrifice Andromeda. It sucks it was only around for 5 minutes, but I loved every second. I have HIGH hopes for a sense of scale and awe like that when we get a Godzilla film from these film companies.
