If statements from X-Force creator Rob Liefeld are to be believed, Fox’s plans for the X-Men movie franchise may be in flux following the success of X-Men: Days of Future Past.

It'll be weird if Cable isn't in it...
Although it seems like...if they want to broaden the franchise it makes sense to feature him and then branch off into X-Force.

I don't really like Cable or Apocalypse really, but if you're going to do Apocalypse it makes sense to use Cable.

Cable isn't even in the two famous Apocalypse stories (the maiming of Angel and Age of Apocalypse). Given the characters history I think it would be a bigger headache to introduce him right now.

Cable sucks. Keep him away from Apocalypse, as Apocalypse's best work involves neither Cable nor the Summers family in any specific way (unlike The Twelve, which heavily involves the Summers family...and sucks)

Personally, I like Cable, but I agree that he doesn't need to be in the movie.

Considering how much DOFP is making, I think Singer will come back regardless.

The film studio's president of production recently took time out from her maternity leave to talk about Bryan Singer, "The Fantastic Four" reboot, "vagina" jokes and the possibility of getting involved with Oliver Stone's Edward Snowden biopic.

In a fan Q&A session at Yahoo, X-Men: Days of Future Past writer Simon Kinberg says the franchise is done with Halle Berry, James Marsden, and Famke Janssen

It doen't seem like the writers really know what to do with Cyclops other than ave him eye-beam stuff everynow and then. Even though he's supposed to be the leader of the team, it feels more like he's Professor X's main henchman.

It's possible that either Storm or Cyclops will ultimately get their due, but I doubt BOTH of them ever really will. They aren't popular characters...like it or lump it, Wolverine is the most popular X-Man and the stories are all going to feature him heavily until Hugh Jackman doesn't want to do it anymore, at which point Wolverine may take a back seat for a movie or two while they re-cast the role and find the right replacement.

'Today we are cancelling the apocalypse!'

A new rumor suggests that ‘Thor’ star Idris Elba is in the running for the role of the powerful mutant title villain in Bryan Singer’s ‘X-Men: Apocalypse.’
