It's almost official folks...Watchmen's Jackie Earle Haley in final talks to take on the glove of Freddy....I don't care what anyone else says about this ....his casting in this film would be a deffinite plus for me and would go a long way in promoting intrest in this film for me. I just hope he doesn't get type casted as the "scary dude" cause he can act and could seemingly do well in any genre.

Also another person who I do not know is supposedly in the running for the role of one of the victims here....

My first experience with Jackie Earl Haley was Watchmen and honestly, he's the only person I can think of that would have my 100% blessing filling Englund's shoes.

So even if the movie sucks, I'm sure Haley will knock his performance out of the park.

Not only does the trailer not impress at all (it looks like an exact clone of the original film), but the new Freddy design is awful. Not scary at all, the scarring is toned WAAAY down, making him much less monstrous and threatening. I'm also not a fan of the whole "Freddy was wrongly accused" angle. I'm tired of Michael, Leatherface, Freddy, etc. having these sympathetic spins put into them. Whatever happened to feeling for the VICTIMS?
