I hated this movie so much I'm not going to give good reasons, 'cause it will just upset me at a time of year when I should be happy. I'll just say this: The movie sucked. The characters sucked, esp. Jack Black's Denton and Watts' Darrow (god how I wanted Kong to step on her). Peter Jackson's a good director but desperately needs an editor he'll listen too -- the fact that there's an even longer version than the theatrical is actually hilarious. And yeah, the Bronto chase scene was ridiculous -- but let's not forget Ann & Kong literally holding hands and watching the sunset. I almost puked.

Rats, now I need more egg nog. Thank god it's already noon.

Ditto Keith. I'd again like to praise the incredible craftsmanship of the film and respect Jackson had for the source material. Like LOTR, Jackson and WETA successfully and meticulously created their own little world(s)(skull island, new york). And you are really transported their.

Understand 99% of the time I'm with you guys on needless remakes. All I can say is it is a beautiful enjoyable film. Once you get past the love for the classic, I'd still say the movies main downfall is the "ego project" syndrome. That is its a project like say "Supes returns" where a director had a previous success and was then given NO limits by the studio. A little editing would do wonders, but all thats up there is pretty good.

I liked the PJ King Kong, it just needed to be an hour shorter. Although I have to admit the best thing about that was Christmas two years ago; King Kong '33, Son of Kong, KK vs. Godzilla, and KK Escapes on DVD!

I bet you guys any money that the people who hate this movie are going to flock to theatres to see Cloverfield when it comes out.

I was just at KB Toys yesterday, and just like an earlier poster I had to notice:
Godzilla figures:sold out
Transformers figures:sold out
Spider-Man 3 figures:major characters sold out
King Kong:every figure they had the day the movie opened is still sitting there,4 days before Xmas.

And I know I'm opening myself up to "kids these days and their ADD and vidja games" comments, but seriously I have to attribute some of KK's lack of popularity to the fact that NO kid could make it through this movie. For Christ's sake,I'm 27 and I had to take a break halfway through.
