I thought the movie was awesome. The slow-motion really wasn't as bad as I was expecting. I was actually expecting WAY more of it from the way the trailers looked, so I didn't have the same problem with the slow mo as Rapzilla did.
But I thought the movie was great. Faithful to the comic, and with Frank working as executive producer and overlooking the whole thing, they did a pretty great job. Although the slow mo was unneeded in some parts, Zack Snyder has done a magnificent job. When I heard the guy that made the Dawn of the Dead remake was doing this, I didn't know what to think (I DID like the new Dawn, but it was average at best). But 300 has shattered those doubts as he has proven that he is a talented director. People who slammed him after the new Dawn and after they heard he was doing 300 should really be eating their words right now.
After watching this, I'm actually looking FORWARD to his film of Alan Moore's the Watchmen... When I read they were making that a movie, I shuddered, but Snyder is really fighting to make it a great adaptation, unlike previous scrapped Watchmen proposals... he really cares about it. Maybe for once, a wonderful Alan Moore story will FINALLY get a good movie. After 300, I have faith in Mr. Snyder.
By the way, Snyder snuck a single frame of Rorschach from the Watchmen into one of the 300 trailers. Its not final, tis from a screen test, I believe. But here it is... not too shabby:
