What I really, really think will make this movie work in terms of generating interest is if they're unashamed of the retro stylings, as this poster leans towards. I think a lot of non-insular-fan-type water cooler talk would be made if there were a trailer featuring our heroes running around in flared pants and miniskirts. The design angle should be to take the old-school aesthetic and apply updated and expanded construction/lighting/etc. to the tech design.

I think it's safe to say that this is the final nail in the coffin of a once great franchise.

Star Trek needs a hiatus far more than Godzilla.

WOW! :o That's really.... boring! ZZzzzzzzzzz. I think they should stick with the last one. Oh well, it does seem to indicate that they are embracing the retro-ness of Trek.

Just in (from AICN): apparently, "JJ Abrams confirmed Zachary Quinto as Spock... but the big news is that Leonard Nimoy is also returning."

I've never caught HEROES, but this Zach looks like a logical choice:
