Well the Alien franchise as a solo franchise is pretty much dead regardless, hoping that a future film would explore the concept of Aliens on Earth is pretty much mute. I don't understand your logic...Lets take another example, Hiroshima a nuclear weapon is exploded and kills thousands. By your logic there is no reason to fear it (nuclear weapons) any longer because we have seen it before. Yes I do realize I am comparing an actual crisis with a fictional one out of a failing franchise but I'm doing so only to make a point. And again in the film the Alien invasion was short and small scale..but terribley effective, giving a sense of what could come out of a future Alien presense on Earth, a future film could easily expand on this and use it as a basis for fearing a much larger invasion of Earth. And sense this is a Godzilla forum I will use another example
1954 G effectively destroys Tokyo in one night...he is dead at the conclusion of the film but that does not take away the menace of another possible kaiju attack, one where we wouldnt have the oxygen destroyer (or the predator, and the exiedient use of a nuke in case of Alien) I could go on and on but I hope you get my point GMan2887.
