Well, Daryl's gradual regression back to pissed-off hillbilly has been, imho pretty damn good.

It's that bit about him flipping around and gearing up to go look for Rick that bothers me.

It's like here's this great character, with this great struggle between trying to fit in and shunning those he's been trying to fit in with because it hurts him when they hurt...

and then they just flip around and make him do things because they don't have any other characters who look badass enough to be saddling up to look for Rick.

weak.

It's not the size of the dog in the fight that matters. It's the size of the fight in the dog!!

Something that bugged me:

In the discussion deciding Randall's fate, why didn't Daryl bring up what Randall confessed to him in the barn during his torturing? (the raping scenario from his group). Surely that would have tipped the scales against any idea of sparing his life.

On this as well as other shows, reality seems to take a back seat when characters WON'T communicate clearly. Obviously you need conflict, but so many times (happened on LOST a lot, for example) a character does or says something that is completely unnecessary or downright STUPID, to move a plot along in a direction that just becomes frustrating to watch, because a lot of times it would be a problem easily solved in real life.

Okay, granted that deciding the fate of someone like Randall is not a decision one takes lightly, but I'm referring to plenty of other moments on the show.

Dale, for all his frustrating quirks, was a character I didn't want to see go like that. Just left me numb. :( In fact, even the most annoying of the main characters I don't want to see get offed, but they need to be developed better. Meanwhile on the internet thousands of people seem to be voicing some pretty violent, sociopathic comments about these characters that are far worse than anything we see on the show.

It's disturbing, the remarks left by people in comment sections at other sites (TWD's talkback or the facebook page for TWD, to name two).... there are a lot of wacked people out there.
