I'll continue to look for them. They're bound to turn up somewhere.
I know that continuity is really open to interpretation in the WHOniverse, and generally I ignore anything that hasn't aired on television, just to keep things straight. Many of the novels are excellent, but I don't consider them canon any more than I would a STAR TREK novel. Most of the Big Finish stuff is great (due largely to having the real actors on hand), but there is so much out there that it would be impossible to track it all down, much less have time to listen to it all.
I have also seen all of the new TV series thus far and know that you don't really need any bridge between McGann and Eccleston to follow it. It's just that I enjoyed McGann so much in the otherwise shaky Fox movie, and there is part of me that has always been bothered by that gap in the Doctor's history. The trailers for these BBC7 broadcasts specifically refer to the Time War between the Time Lords and the Daleks, the destruction of Gallifrey, the 9th Doctor (including his northern accent and attire) and even Rose, as well as the events in the FOX movie. They've been officially given the nod by current Series Producer Russell Davies. They also apparently ignore all of the 8th Doctor stuff from the novels and any previous audio dramas. They are being marketed quite specifically as the official, true events which took place in between McGann's first story and Eccleston's, so I figure I'll treat them as such and check 'em out.
Haven't had a chance to listen to SHADA yet. That story is a bit of a quandry for me. On the one hand, it was an official story for the TV series. On the other hand, it was never finished in its original form and never aired. I've never been quite sure how to fit it in to my own personal view of DR. WHO continuity. Having a later Doctor come back and do the same story (on audio, no less) only makes it more complicated.
