Actually. I can understand a fan of the old series not liking this new one.
The old series was a no-brainer. The characters were very easy to like. And the space ship battles were more thrilling ( like fake barrel rolls in space).
I loved the old series a lot myself.

Except for Adama and Baltar. The characters in this new series suck.
There is no reason to get emmotionally attached to any of them.
But since the writing and the story is so all around brilliant. You don't need to care that much about any one character to get into it.
The story and writing is the real star of this new series.
Watching this new series is like playing a chess game. With chess pieces you really aren't that emmotionally attched to.
So if you aren't into strategy games. And the most important thing in a show is likable characters. I can see the new series being hard to connect with for some people.

Just thought I'd ask, is there any reason that Sci-Fi is no longer airing this? I know that there's supposed to be a new season coming and I would think that Sci-Fi would continue with the repeats to keep interest up. So I find it suprising that it's not on...

It's an awfully long mid-season break for a show with only 22 episodes this season. Maybe they playing something else woould get better rating then repeating the first part of season 2 for a 3rd time. I'm sure in late December Sci-Fi will be blitzing the heck out of what I gather is their flagship. Personally I hope for a marathon of season 2 up to now so I can be sure I've caught them all (oh and I still not seen the one with Lucy Lawless!).

Ressurection Ship?! Either this is more of season 2 I missed, or it just went over my head (being a modern fast paced show, my LEAVE IT TO BEAVER bred mind usually as to watch each episode twice to take it all in!)... was the "Ressurection Ship" something Pegasus encountered just before meeting Galactica? And nothing to do with "The Ship of Lights" from the old series (which I guess RDM `could get away with by stressing they are just hyper advanced humans).

I have seen all of the first 10 episodes of the second season. I can't wait how the second 10 will turn out.

A lot happened today on BSG today and it only serves as a prelude to next week's episode which may finally give a true victory to the humans over the Cylons (if they don't kill each other first).
