I just saw it last night (it only opened here on Friday) and it was awesomesauce. Totally unlike any monster movie I've ever seen, it really did put you right there in the middle of this massive rampage which was awesome. The military attack in the street and the part near the end where the Stealth bombed the monster and it smashed against a building as it was toppling over were especially awesome. It definitely lived up to the hype for me, and I'm now seriously looking forward to the already confirmed sequel.
Also I'm kinda glad I was told me about the satellite falling into the water at the very end beforehand or I probably would have missed it like my friends did.
Oh yeah and Yahoo now has a clip up of the street battle sequence in crisp and clear HD Quicktime for all those of you who want to see the monster again without having to resort to watching swiftly removed camcorded Youtube clips:
