Saw it this afternoon and I'd give it a big thumbs up myself. I loved the
group talking parts as they screamed Spielberg to me. I thought the script was good and I had a great time. My wife jumped out of her seat
a few times and I even laughed at some guy snoring several seats away.
The kids were very good and the special effects well done. But where have I seen the long haired pot boy?!? I know I seen him in something when he was younger. Also the girls father reminded me of someone as
well. Anyone know where I've seen these two before?

I loved it. The kids were fantastic in it (kids make such great protagonists if you allow them to act like kids).

The monster's design was kinda generic... kinda wish we never got a good look at it. But it was used well.

I only thought this was average. It had a "been there done that " vibe to me. That said...I thought they got great performances out of the young actors. Wasn't a bad watch by any means, but I'm in no hurry to see it again.
