Instead of churning out cash-in products like that Planes direct to DVD movie, Disney needs to go back utilize older properties that they haven't actively supported in years.

A few examples of properties that have done well for Disney over the last couple decades:

++The Gummi Bears -- This was a huge hit for Disney back in the 80s, but it's been effectively forgotten by Disney for years now. Disney hasn't even finished the DVD releases of the show. First with Shrek and now with How to Train Your Dragon Dreamworks has found great success with light-hearted fantasy animated movies. The Gummi Bears covered the same terriroty successfully when the show first ran, and I'm sure they can do so again if given a proper chance.

'm certain that Disney can find great success with the Gummi Bears again by brining them to theaters in an all new movie. Disney could go with a cel style animation style like the Gummis were originally animated in or use modern CGI animation.

++Gargoyles -- C'mon this one should be a no brainer. The cartoon was a great hit for Disney in the early 90s and with the popularity of the Harry Potter movies I'm certain that the Gargoyles could "live again" for Disney on the silver screen. Disney should have been looking to bring the Gargoyles to movie-goers a few years ago, it's a great property with some great stories to tell if only Disney would allow it.

++Darkwing Duck -- Seriously Disney? Superhero based movies have been doing pretty well over the last decade and I don't believe there were even rumors of Disney bringing the Duck Knight to theaters. Disney still hasn't released the 3rd volume of episode nor the intact premiere tele-movie (only the syndicated episodes version).

++Ducktales -- Do I really need to say more on this one?

Disney has plenty more shelved properties that could do well again if they just gave them a fair shake.
Who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men?

hate me if you will, but a bill and ted 3 could actually work...

bill and ted all old and the future not being what george carlin told them it was going to be and having to travel through time to figure out where it went wrong and fix it...

i could see it.
