This is silly. I'm sorry, but a certain segment of the population on places like IMDB and AICN has really gone goofy over this. I suspect 99% of what's being posited (Ethan Haas, Cthulhu, August 1st, lions, Voltron, Freemasons, yadda) has NOTHING to do with this movie. I can't decide if the guys at Bad Robot are laughing their butts off, or terrified at the unbridled power of what happens when you don't tell your audience anything.
I saw it with fans of LOST and now it's happening again. People make connections that aren't there, see things that aren't there, and spend a LOT of energy and time in the process. They get all hyped up to the point that what comes out could never meet everyone's expectations, and today's hype machine becomes tomorrow's poop sandwich.
On this particular topic, I'm outta here, at least until there is something truly substantial to discuss. Which could be 1/18/08 for all I know!
