I'm sure they know that its hilarious and intend to capitalize on that. James Gunn isn't a dummy and I'm sure he'll know how to make it fun.

^If I found out that Freakazoid was in the next Captain America movie I'd reserve my ticket now and pitch a tent in front of the theater.
