I kind of feel bad for Rob Zombie because the guy obviously loves horror films and has a ton of respect for the Halloween franchise, but his remake just plain fell flat for me.
The stuff he added really didn't bring anything to the film (In fact, I think providing a real motivation for why Michael Myers kills actually makes the character
less frightening.) and the things he retained from the original were retained so faithfully that they were essentially just reshoots.
Reading the description of the sequel likewise leaves me cold.

Again, it's kind of sad because I know somewhere deep inside Rob Zombie has an awesome horror movie waiting to claw it's way out, but I don't think it's going to be part of his Halloween series. He was pretty close with
House of 1,000 Corpses...maybe he should try making an original slasher-type character.
