Kinda surprised there isn't a thread about this movie yet. If you get a chance, go see it. It's a very well-made movie about artificial intelligence.

I loved it and give it a 9/10. It is very dialog and musically driven with a lot of intense scenes.

So, I saw this.

Don't get me wrong, it's really, REALLY good...but it is what it is. That is to say, there's really nothing underneath the surface of this film. It's a story about artificial intelligence that becomes a sort of Frankenstein type of story. Spectacular direction, amazing (if often very subtle) performances, great score...no real metaphors or deeper meaning.

That's not likely to put it off of my top ten list for the year at the end, but it IS enough to keep me from saying things I've seen many people say about it "EASILY" being the best film of the year.
Gills.
