Went and saw this today and loved it. Very smart, original, adult science fiction film. Great performances, awesome directing. One of the best of the year. See it if its playing near you.

I might see it this week, but I'm also trying not to spend money so I can have more at G-fest.

Saw this last weekend. Given all the buzz and the critics almost universally slurping it, I guess I'm in the minority of those who did not like it.

Son of a $!¬(%

This movie totally flew under my radar until I looked through the list of highest rated summer movies on Rotten Tomatoes. My first thought was that this looks interesting. My second thought was that it sounds annoyingly like the concept of the next novel I'm planning to write. Fortunately, the focus of the plot appears quite different, along with the nature of the disaster scenario.

I guess there really are no original ideas, just new recipes for cooking them.

I finally got around to seeing this. I knew it was going to be quirky coming from Bong, but I didn't expect it to be so violent and grim. It really feels like an anti-Hollywood blockbuster in a lot of ways, although the shaky cam actions scenes sort of betray this feel at times. So this certainly isn't a rousing Guardians of the Galaxy type of experience. I imagine if I had seen this with a packed audience it would have been very uncomfortable.

I did enjoy the movie, the separate societies on the train were both beautifully and eerily brought to life and I'm definitely going to give it another watch sometime soon. The only Bong film I've yet to see is his directorial debut Barking Dogs Never Bite (2000).

Barking Dogs is a weird movie. It's a bit oddly paced and there's a scene in the first ten minutes that makes me deeply uncomfortable. On the other hand, it has Bae Doo-na in it, who is my future wife probably.

I watched this last night.

There are some definite moments in the movie that are just odd, but it features solid characters and has some very cool ideas. I liked most of it.

This movie was so good I could barely even handle it. My eyes wanted to leap from my skull and say, "Please. Too much awesome at one time."

Is there anything on the Bluray/DVD explaining the "Weinstein cut" or what they wanted changed in order to push the film for a wide release?

It was apparently around 20 minutes shorter, which seems like a whole subplot would have been dropped

Interesting movie, fascinating premise, though I must admit, it took more than one viewing to get the jest the of the narrative. Still, a definite thumbs up on this movie.
