It seems to me that the greatest threat from giant cicadas would be their calls -- normal size cicadas easily get 90+ decibels (within the range of causing hearing damage with extended exposure). Imagine the acoustic pressure a gigantic cicada (or several hundred or thousands) could develop -- burst ear drums all around.
