...Yeah, let's face it, making broad general statements like that about other people's favorite Star Trek movies just BEGS for, you know, actual evidence.

I think most of the movies had excellent Star Trek "feel."

I agree with you, Ang. I love all the Trek movies. I ended up voting for Wrath of Khan, but had to think about it for a minute.

BTW, did you know that Generations wasn't really the end of Captain Kirk? To learn more, read Will Shatner's excellent (IMO) book, The Return.

I wonder if there will be another ST flick. What I'd like to see; ST: EXELSCIOR, (sp?) starring George Takei. It would be really cool to have a movie (or maybe a new TV series) centered around Captain Sulu.

Live long and prosper. 8-)

I see your point, Cy. Indeed, it would be hard, if not impossible, to include all the ST novels in the Canon- there are so many, all by different authors with their own ideas, that contradictions between them (and with later TV episodes or movies) become inevitable. (Even more so when you figure the various comic book series into the equation!) Although I don't understand why it should be any different with SW.. :?:

If you didn't like Shatner's books, Ang, that's cool. Just shows how different opinions can be. Good thing- It would sure be a boring world otherwise! BTW, my favorite ST novels are those written by Peter David, especially Q Squared and Vendetta. Some of my favorite ST stories are in novels and comic books.

To get back on topic, how do you feel about the idea I proposed for the next ST movie?

Wrath of Khan is a good film even without the Star Trek connection; but it's an even better film with it. It not only has one of the most poignant death scenes in the history of cinema, but it earns it. Boromir's death was pretty good, Trinity's was terrible, but Spock's...it's simply excellent writing and filmmaking.

You would think Nick Meyer would be in more demand than he is.... I wonder why Paramount doesn't give Berman and Bragga the boot and hand the reigns over to him.
