Yeah, its not a traditional Koontz book, but it does have the suspense. I'd recommend it since its a pretty light read

This is on Netflix streaming now... In a lot of ways it reminded me of "John Dies at the End".. Anyway, I think Stephen Sommers benefited from the smaller budget and it's a decent adaptation. Worth a rental.
