The visuals are pretty darn bad - but if it does bomb horribly, that usually seems to increase my likelihood of liking the film (Scott Pilgrim, Speed Racer, Peter Pan - and, to a lesser extent; Cloud Atlas and John Carter).

Could go either way.

I would have loved real people playing the giants.

I saw another preview for this yesterday, and my excitement level dropped considerably when I heard "Fee, Fi, Fo, Fum." It sounded so out of place.

I simply can't get over the awful looking giants.

I guess I shouldn't be surprised that this movie is getting bad to mediocre reviews. I'm glad Singer is coming back to where he belongs with X-Men.

I don't know if I'd call them awful. I don't like them, but they seem to look like traditional fairy tale giants...which is what they are supposed to be.

The designs aren't bad per-se (the are, in many ways, pretty traditional), but the rendering and expressions... it all seems off.
