So apparently Barry Levinson (Rain Man, Sleepers, Wag the Dog) directed a found footage horror film... It was available on DirectTV and the Mrs and I figured we would give it a shot due to its location of the Chesapeake Bay, which we grew up around.
It's an ecological horror flick kind of like 'Birds' meets 'Contagion' (although lacking the immediacy of Birds) and while i am always glad to see MD get represented in movies, i don't think it will do much positive for tourism as 'The Blair Witch' did... Overall it was a pretty effective flick, creepy without being excessive, and aside from one gratuitous jump scare (which is in the trailer) and one other scene i thought the direction was pretty taut. The kill count is very high, and the special effects are top notch without being distracting.
Not sure if anyone else has seen it, but i didn't find a thread for it yet (after Search turned up many posts about Micheal Bay) so i figured i would start one
