One of the best creature creators ever has passed at the age of 84.

His filmography is full of brilliant makeup and monsters: Alien, ET, Close Encounters, Deep Red, Planet of the Vampires, Dune, Conan, Silver Bullet, and one of my favorite obscure and criminally underseen horror films, 1981's Possession.
