I'd definitely recommend this.
At 106 minutes, you're not going to waste much time if you don't like it (which is something in and of itself that i LOVE about this movie...thank god there are still people out there that know how to tell a decent story in under 150 minutes...), but I really can't see someone not liking this unless they really hate Matt Damon...
for every moment in the movie that feels a little...disingenuous, Matt Damon is there to save it.
the chemistry between him and Emily Blunt is just perfect. Because of the authentic feel of this relationship, we get some really good moments of humor.
This allows the story to take itself seriously, without poking fun at the plot or any of the main characters, AND it brings you into the film, allows you to get lost in it because these feel like real people.
One of the BEST things this movie does though, is that it keeps the 'bureau' mostly unexplained...there are tidbits and enough information is given to allow people to fill in the blanks on their own, but it doesn't over-explain things.
Also, I kinda thought the movie was setting us up for a STUPID twist, and it didn't (and I was THRILLED by that).
I've now seen three films from 2011 (This, Rango, Hangover 2) and this was far-and-away my favorite.
It's not the best movie I've ever seen...but my issues with it come down to nitpicks, mostly.
though all the comparisons people made to Inception around its release are completely unfounded.
It's more similar to Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind...but then, most people are too stupid to remember a movie as good as Sunshine exists...
i might buy this movie...for me, that's a pretty big deal (i haven't bought a movie since Inception, I think...)
