I saw it at age 10 or thereabouts and was fairly disappointed. No dinosaurs! The dinosaurs were half the fun of Skull Island for me. Plus, the ending was a terrible letdown for my youthful expectations after seeing those wild movie posters with a Kong so gigantic he straddled the Twin Towers and grabbed jets out of the air. Looking at it today, I'm neither here nor there - It's enjoyable in a goofy sort of way. Seen better, seen MUCH worse.

As an aside, one of the things I was excited about as a lad were the stories about the giant, life-size Kong robot that the SPFX guys were building for the movie (reported in Famous Monsters, IIRC). Of course, being 10 and a child of afternoon sci-fi, I always held this deep hope that one of those freak comic book accidents would occur and this giant robot would short circuit and go on a rampage... alas, for youth.... :? I spent half the movie trying to figure out which scenes were ones with the giant Kongbot, and then, unfortunately, I saw them..... :shock:
