Kong: King of Skull Island movie

Postby JordanGLC » Mon Dec 17, 2007 10:55 am

I started reading the Kong: King of Skull Island comic (which continues from DeVito's book) and near the back of issue one is a full page ad for a movie based on the story. All it says is:

Kong
King of Skull Island
Soon To Be A Major Motion Picture
Fantastic Films International

IMBD has it listed , but has virtually no info. Has anyone heard of this?

Huh.. now how did THIS slip under our noses? Our detective work must be really slipping...=/

Lol... Being Very Off Subject,

I've always pictured Kong as the type to show up right after the end of Godzilla's major battles, shove Godzilla and friends aside and take credit for beating the enemy of the movie.

*Gigan and Ghidorah run off after getting a beating*

Godzilla: Don't come back!

Angilas: Yeah!!!

Kong: *shoves Godzilla and friends aside* Th-th-that was me! I defeated the space monsters! I did it! It was me!

Public: ^_^ YEAH!

Godzilla and Angilas:.......*shrug and leave*

Fantastic Film International has it on their site as well. http://www.fantasticfilmsinternational.com/new.html

Nothing there really....just says "pre production".

Joe DeVito wrote this story back in 2005. He sold the publishing rights to Dark Horse Press who then published both Hardcover and Softcover editions. He then sold the comic book rights to Markosia (a British Comic company) who is currently doing a 6 issue comic book adaptation. He then sold the film rights to Fantastic Films International.

From what I've been reading, its going to be some cheap straight to video affair (I mean who in the heck is FFI?). I read it might even be animated.

So its nothing to get excited about.
