DW Series 3 in the U.S.

Well, I've decided to start a seperate thread so that folks like me aren't spolied (to my credit I spoiled the finale but I still don't know much about the rest of the episodes). Sci Fi aired the Runaway Bride and Smith and Jones episodes of Doctor Who last Friday and here's my opinion (not that it matters).

The Runaway Bride was the weaker of the two. I liked the first part of it with everyone sort of baffled and running around, but once the threat was revealed I thought it was a bit lame... spaceship had a nice design though.

I think Smith and Jones was the best season opener we've had so far. The plot was unorthodox for Doctor Who and I liked theat we weren't dealing with a straightforward alien invasion. Martha seemed a good companion, the Doctor was in a silly mood and it worked in this story, and the Judoon were a strangely lovable alien race. I hope they return. The only complaint I have in this episode is that some things happened too suddenly with no buildup and caused some momentary bits of confusion.
