You can't really compare a movie like LATITUDE ZERO to a movie like DOGORA, because they're two different kinds of movies. LZ belongs to the epic sci-fi/fantasy part of Toho's output, while DOGORA is the rare case where they tried to cross-pollinate genres with each other. It's a dai kaiju eiga with an ironic sense of humor. Personally, while I hold LATITUDE ZERO in higher esteem because I enjoy watching it more, DOGORA is the better-made film. The production wasn't as troubled to where it affected the overall quality of the film. However, both films are well worth seeing for any fan of Toho's sci-fi/fantasy movies.
